In the period February 04-06, 2025, a specialized sensitive training for specialists from various institutions in the Pernik district was held in the hotel complex "Dolna Banya". The initiative "Together we can do more!" is part of the "Rights and Values" project, funded by the European Union and the "Workshop for Civic Initiatives" Foundation. More than 30 specialists from different institutions in the Pernik region participate in the training.
The training was aimed at raising awareness and skills of specialists to recognize and respond to various forms of violence – domestic, school and cyber violence. Special attention was paid to the fight against disinformation and propaganda, which often lead to misunderstanding and lack of adequate response to violence.

The training included small group work, role plays, discussions and practical case studies. The participants looked at different situations of violence, discussed methods of response and support, as well as approaches to protect human rights and counter discrimination. The specialists exchanged experience and ideas for effective intervention in cases of violence.

During the training, case studies from the real practice of the participants were also discussed, which contributed to deepening the understanding of the complexity of different forms of violence and the need for coordinated actions between institutions. The lecturers presented examples of good practices and effective strategies for providing support to victims.

The specialists had the opportunity to develop skills for working with victims of violence by getting acquainted with techniques for active listening, empathy and recognition of non-verbal signals. The training also touched on the topic of professional self-defense of specialists who often face emotionally demanding cases.
At the end of the training, the participants united around the idea that together we can respond in a coordinated way and actively work to reduce violence, discrimination and provide access to support for people in need.
The initiative "Together We Can Do More!" is implemented within the framework of the "Rights and Values" project and is funded by the European Union and the "Workshop for Civic Initiatives" Foundation.
