Nazan* is a wonderful young woman, a mother of two boys, one of those women whose strength remains often invisible, but is deeply inspiring. After more than 15 years in a marriage marked by severe physical, mental and economic abuse, she finds the strength within herself to end this destructive relationship and embark on the path to a life without violence.
Married at just 20 years old, Nazan spent almost her entire adult life in the shadow of a partner who systematically destroyed her self-esteem and ability to develop. But deep down, she has never given up faith and hope that she deserves better.
The turning point came when a close friend of hers – also a survivor of domestic violence – told her about the PULSE Foundation. This conversation changes everything. Nazan contacted the organization's team in Kardzhali and began his path to recovery. The psychological support she receives helps her face years of trauma and regain her self-esteem and inner strength.
Today she leads an independent life, a proud owner of a home and a car, active in her professional field and, most importantly, she has created a safe and stable environment for her children. Although the beginning after the separation was difficult, her children now live in an atmosphere of love, understanding and support.
Nazan continues to regularly attend consultations with psychologists and social workers of the PULSE Foundation and develops as a person. She inspires other women who are just looking for their way out of violence – because it is proof that a new beginning is possible.
Help is possible – and real. PULSE Foundation provides comprehensive programs to support victims of domestic violence and people at risk, including:
