Implementation period: October 26, 2022 – April 26, 2024
Funded by the 'Justice' Program, small grant scheme of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism
As a natural extension and continuation of the core activities aimed at preventing violence and providing support to victims of violence, the PULSE Foundation has developed this project. The project 'Implementation of effective integrated approaches in the field of domestic violence and gender-based violence' is focused on supporting the development and implementation of effective integrated approaches, aimed at improving the status and opportunities for victims of domestic violence to receive timely assistance and support.
The project reflects the need to counter gender-based violence through the development and implementation of effective measures in the field of domestic violence, introducing new approaches in working with vulnerable groups by involving them in these processes.
The main goal of the project is to support the development and implementation of effective integrated approaches aimed at improving the status and opportunities of Roma women and girls who are victims of domestic violence. Exact statistical data on domestic violence victims in Bulgaria are lacking, but unofficial statistics indicate that every fourth Bulgarian woman is a victim of domestic violence. In fact, hidden domestic violence and gender-based violence extend beyond these numbers. The reality is particularly severe in the Roma community, where there is often a lack of critical awareness of the problem. The planned activities contribute to increasing access to and the quality of specialized services, with a special focus on vulnerable women and children from the Roma community.
